Class Descriptions

Ballet - Cecchetti and Vagonova styles of ballet. The focus is on ballet technique, ballet terminology, ballet etiquette, proper alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and grace using classical music.
Tap - Broadway and Rhythm styles of tap. The focus is on tap technique, tap terminology, balance, hearing rhythms, and using tap sounds to make music using upbeat, top 40 or rhythmic music.
Jazz - Many different styles of jazz ranging from Luigi, Martha Graham, Bob Rizzo, etc. The focus is on jazz technique, jazz terminology, strength, flexibility, isolations, and understanding body movements using upbeat, top 40, or Broadway music.
Lyrical/Modern - A combination of ballet, jazz, contemporary and modern styles of dance. The focus is on learning how the body moves and expressing the lyrics through dance moves using slow songs, top 40, or any song that provokes strong emotion.
Musical Theatre - Musicals and Broadway shows. The focus is on acting and dancing to portray a character using songs from musical and Broadway shows.
Hip Hop - Pop and lock, old school, and break dancing styles. The focus is on strength, strong isolations, and rhythm using upbeat, top 40, or hip hop music.
Stretch/Turn/Leap Stretches to improve turns and leaps for ballet and jazz. The focus is on strength, flexibility, control and understanding what each muscle does and how to use them properly. A variety of turn and leap combinations will be taught using upbeat, top 40 music.
Acrobatics - Basic floor exercises. The focus is to increase flexibility, strength and stamina from handstands to back handsprings.
Pilates - Pilates Mat only. The focus is on strengthening the core muscles to help stabilize balance. This allows the student to have more control over their muscles with a better understanding of how to use them correctly. Music is at the teacher's discretion.
